Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis involves the use of suggestions and other techniques to guide the participant (the person being hypnotized) into a deeply relaxed and highly focused state of awareness that resembles sleep, but is not actually sleep — this is known as the hypnotic state. In terms of brainwave activity, this is often referred to as the “Alpha” state.

This hypnotic state is similar to a daydream or the transitional state just before falling asleep — a state between wakefulness and sleep. In fact, we often enter a hypnotic state in daily life, such as when we’re completely absorbed in a TV show or a book, when we’re deeply focused on music, or when we’re so immersed in our work that we become unaware of sounds or activities happening around us.

Hypnosis is highly effective, but there are some common misconceptions circulating in society that lead people to misunderstand what hypnosis truly is. Some may think hypnosis causes someone to lose consciousness and be controlled by another person… but this is absolutely incorrect. Hypnosis is not about controlling others; on the contrary, it empowers the participant (the person being hypnotized) to gain greater control over themselves.

Hypnosis is particularly helpful in accessing areas of the subconscious mind that are usually beyond our conscious control. During hypnosis, our senses become more acute, and concentration, memory, and learning ability can all improve. Hypnosis taps into the vast potential of the subconscious, offering tremendous benefits to both our mind and body.

Hypnotherapy was originally developed for use in medical treatment. Since hypnosis helps relax both the body and the conscious mind, the subconscious becomes more receptive to positive suggestions, making it easier to resolve and process various issues. Through hypnosis, we can directly activate the power of the subconscious to improve physical health, mental well-being, emotional balance, and even behavior and habits.

Many people suffering from allergic conditions—such as nasal allergies or skin sensitivities—have experienced complete healing through hypnotherapy. Today, hypnotherapy is widely used in many different fields, and its effects are often remarkable. Learning hypnotherapy techniques not only enables you to help yourself, but also empowers you to help others!
